Chocolate Avocado Dip

Updated: Apr 19, 2020

This rich and creamy dip has just 5 simple ingredients and is a great addition to a fruit plate (or just as good eaten alone)!

As a Nutritionist, I am passionate about high quality ingredients, so I was thrilled to partner with Nielsen-Massey Vanillas and create this delicious dessert made with only whole real foods.

Nielsen-Massey Pure Vanilla Extracts are produced from premium hand-selected beans. They also they use a cold extraction process which draws out vanilla’s 300+ flavor compounds and helps preserve the antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties of the bean. Don't be fooled by artificial or imitation vanilla, which is often made from wood byproducts and can contain harsh chemicals.

The two star ingredients in this recipe are cacao powder and avocado. Cacao powder is packed with fiber and magnesium, and is also loaded with powerful phytonutrients like catechins, anthocyanins, and proanthocyanidins. These compounds have been found to reduce inflammation and support cardiovascular health. Avocados are known for being a great source of healthy monounsaturated fats, but they are also high in fiber, Vitamin C, and Vitamin B6.

  • 2 tablespoons almond butter

  • 2 tablespoons almond milk

  • ½ cup maple syrup

  • 1 ½ teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
